This Miele washer repair guide explains how to repair the spin basket of top-load washers. The spin basket holds clothes while washing. If the basket has been damaged at the attachment point to the hub, and it makes a loud banging sound or a rubbing noise during spin cycles.
Replace it: If your basket appears damaged or has spots of rust It is possible to replace it. Rust may cause marks on your clothes. If the spin basket is damaged or rusted, replace it using a manufacturer-approved replacement part.

Set the spanner nut on the shaft and screw it into the base of the spin basket. The spanner nut should be tightened by hand and then make use of the spanner wrench snug the spanner nut. To tighten the spanner nuts use a reasonable amount of force to strike the spanner wrench’s arm with a strike.
Reinstall the impeller: Push the impeller to the top of the drive motor shaft until it is fully seated. Attach the bolt to the impeller and tighten it. Reattach the cap the top of the impeller.
Install the tub ring again: The tub ring should be placed on the top of the tub and push it down. To secure the tabs, press down on the sections which are located over the tabs locking. Reinstall the top panel. Carefully lower the top panel. Engage the brackets by pulling the panel forward about one quarter of an inch until the panel is dropped and the brackets become engaged. Reverse the panel by quarter of an inch to secure it to the frame. The lid on the washer must be removed. Place the screws on the hinges at the top at the back of the control console. Make sure the screws are tightened. The tabs should be placed on the left side of the wire cover in the slots, then line up the holes on the left side . put the mounting screw in. Secure the mounting screw to ensure that the wire cover is in place. Reset the water supply valves to restore water and power.
Connect the outlet to the washer: Replace the Miele washer in its original position. Check the washer’s calibration by turning the control dial counterclockwise 1 time. Within about six seconds, swiftly turn the dial three clicks clockwise, one counterclockwise, then one more clockwise. The green status light blink once you have successfully activated the diagnostic mode. If the lights don’t blink, make the dial of the control one full revolution counter-clockwise to reset your control and then try again, this time turning the dial faster. Choose the Calibration Cycle in the diagnostic mode by turning the control dial by four clicks clockwise. When the Rinse light comes on then press Start.
