How To Replace Lid Switch Lock Assembly On Haier Washer Top-Load Model

The Haier washer repair guide offers step-by step instructions for replacing the lid switch/lock assembly on a top-load Haier washer. The washer includes a switch to determine whether the lid of the washer is open. If the lid open then the Haier washer will not begin. The top of the panel must be lifted

Cover the lid with tape so that it doesn’t open and result in damage to the console. To get access to the control console’s back, pull the Haier washer toward your. Take off the top screws of the hinge brackets, which are located on the side of the Haier washer. Take off the wire cover and take out the screw. Slide the top part of the panel about 1/2 inch forward and then raise the front panel approximately one quarter inch. Keep the panel slightly elevated and push it back by about a quarter inch before removing the brackets. The top panel can be lifted to be positioned against the wall , behind the Haier washer.

 

Take the lid switch and lock off the top panel

With a 1/4 inch nut driver, remove two screws for mounting which hold the lid lock to the top panel. The lid switch and lock assembly can be taken off from the top panel. The lid switch and lock assembly is still attached to the wire harness. It is best to let it hang from wire harness. To remove the wire harness clips from the top panel use an slot screwdriver. Take out the wire harness in white plastic at the back of the panel’s front. The wire harness is still connected to the control board for electronic devices inside the console. Take off the plastic clip that is white from the top panel–don’t remove the plastic clip in white or take the wire harness out yet.

 

Open the console

Take care to lower the top panel and then place it on top of the Haier washer. To get access to the console’s front panel, simply pull the washer forward. Remove the 2 screws from the upper part of the back panel. Press the control panel while sliding a knife through the right side of the control panel to loosen the mounting clip. Repeat on the left side to unhook the console. Place the console on top of the Haier washer.

 

The lid switch/lock has been turned off

Locate the wire harness connector for the lid switch and lock. It is located on the rear of the control board. Lock the tab that is locked, and then take the wire harness plug to the lid switch/locking unit from the control board’s receptacle. The lid switch/lock assembly wire harness through the hole on the back of the top panel. You will then be able to release the white plastic clip. Remove the tape from the lid and open the washer lid. The lid switch and lock assembly is pulled from the washer. Cover the lid with tape again.

 

Install the new lid switch/lock assembly

Attach the console into its mounting clips. Then, move the Haier washer towards the back wall. The top panel can be lifted and placed against the Haier washer’s back wall. Pull the other end of the wire harness through the hole on the rear of the top panel. Insert the white plastic wire harness clip through the hole, then secure it. Route the wire harness into the upper panel’s side and attach the wire harness using the clips located on the sides of the top panel. Set the lid switch/lock on top of the panel, and secure it using the mounting screws.

Then, carefully lower the top panel. Set the brackets in motion by pushing the panel back about one quarter inch until the panel is lower and the brackets snap. For the panel to be locked in place with the frame, move the panel back by a quarter inch. Unclip the clips and then lift the console to access the electronic control board. Attach the wire harness to the connector of the electronic controller board. The tab that locks should lock into place.

 

Reinstall the console

Place the console on the top panel and secure the mounting clips to secure the console on the top panel. Install the screws on top of the back panel and then tighten the screws. 8. Turn on the valves for water supply to restore water and power
