How To Replace Door Boot On Hoover Front Load Washer

This Hoover washer repair guide shows how to replace the rubber door boot seal on a front-load Hoover washer. This seal made of rubber is a flexible gasket between the drum and the door that stops leaks. If the washer appears to leak out from the front panel, look at the door boot seal made of rubber for a hole or rip.   1. Turn off the electricity
  2. Remove the power cord
  3. Wear protective gloves

  5. Take out the top panel
  6. Lean the top panel toward the rear of the washer.
  7. The control panel is removed by removing a screw from the back. The dispenser drawer is moved forward until it stops.

Take off the front panel:

Open the drain pump filter cover that is located at the bottom of the front panel. Remove the screw that secures the housing of the plastic pump to the frame of the Hoover washer. Take off the plastic pump housing. The mounting screw at the lower part of the front panel must be removed.

 

Unlock the Hoover door to the washer

The outer spring pliers may be used to expand the spring clamp and then it can be removed from the door boot. The rubber door boot must be removed from the lip on the top of the opening for the washer tub on the front panel. Seven screws located on the top of your front panel should be removed. Turn off the Hoover washer. The top of the front panel forward and remove the wire harness from the door lock/switch assembly. The front panel should be removed from the washer. Remove the counterbalance weights. Remove the bolts on the bottom counterbalance weight and then pull the bottom counterbalance weight off the tub. Repeat the process to remove the counterbalance weight on top.

 

Remove the door boot:

Use pliers to release the spring clamps, then remove the hoses from the boot of the door. Unlock the tab, then unplug the wire harness for the drum light. Let go of the spring clamp using the spring tool in the middle.

 

Take the door boot from the tub

Install the new boot. Place the door boot inside the tub on the front lip. Be sure that the hoses align properly. Put the door boot on the lip of the tub, making sure that you properly place it over the entire tub. Place the spring clamp on the lip with the spring placed at 12 at 12. Use the spring pliers for expanding the spring clamp. Work on the bent end of the spring clamp to its spring-side eyelet. Plug the harness for the light to the drum back in. The tab that locks should snap into place.

 

Join the hoses with the door boot connectors

Connect them with spring clamps. To prevent rub, leave enough room between the spring clamps and the door boot. Install the counterbalances weights again Use the mounting bolts again to put the counterbalance weight on the bottom. Repeat the process for the top counterbalance weight. Install the front washer panel. The panel should be placed in the cabinet’s front.

 

Reconnect the door switch wiring harness

Place the mounting screws at the top of your front panel with the holes on the frame by lifting the front panel off of it. Install the seven mounting screws on the top of your front panel. Make sure they are tightened. Open the Hoover door to the washer. The door boot should be placed around the opening in front of the panel. Fix the door boot by using the spring clamp. Install the screw in the base of the bottom of the Hoover washer into the space for the pump housing and tighten. The drain pump filter should be pushed from the housing to the front panel recess that is located at the bottom of the washer. Install the mounting screws and secure it. Close the drain pump door of the housing. Install the control panel. The control panel should be placed to the top of your front panel. Reinstall the screws in the dispenser housing. Screws should be installed at the back of the control panel. Connect the wire harness to the control panel. Reposition the detergent dispenser into the drawer’s housing.

 

Install the top panel:

Move the panel downwards and up to place it on the washer frame. To secure the back panel install the screws. Do not over tighten. Switch on the power source for the washer to restore its power. Restore the washer in its original spot.
